The Addition…

We never want people to dictate how we live our lives, but deep down there is a way we want/expect people to live. Let me be honest with you and let you in on how I expect people around me to behave.

Respect is paramount! Recently I was having a discussion with a close friend on relationships. He brought up the NEED for respect in relationships. Interesting bit is the more we discussed respect, the more we realized it’s the fabric that holds together all relationships- family, work, school, friends and romantic ones. I definitely was vouching for respect even before this conversation, but now I’m vouching for it and acting on it. It’s time I stopped tolerating disrespect because what the hell is that?!

You owe no one an explanation and no one owes you one. So I don’t understand why people out here are feeling so entitled. Excuse me sir…excuse me sir…I ain’t married to you neither I’m I dating you nor I’m I on your employees’ list. In the same way, I’ve taught myself not to feel so entitled that people around me always have to give me an explanation. Aiii please we are adults and therefore we only are answerable to ourselves. You realize this point gets you back to respect, yeah?

Do what makes you happy boo! Eeei the number of times I’ve used this statement on my friends this week alone is ALOT. I am now learning and accepting that my happiness is my responsibility. We need to learn to be our own sources of happiness-genuine happiness. I have a disclaimer on this one tho’. Please abeg abeg if what makes you happy is making other people not be happy, you are WICKED! In fact read these words out loud and internalize each of them “I am wicked and I need to style up๐Ÿ™‚”

Support your friends and acquaitances. Lately I’ve been listening to conversations surrounding the need to support these people. What came out clearly is that my friend might have started a liquor business. Let’s assume I don’t do alcohol. It will be very unfair for me not to mention this business, to people I know are interested in such and are actually potential clients. You get the message I’m passing across? Supporting your friends doesn’t mean buying from them or subscribing to their school of thought. Making them and whatever they are up to known, is massive support.

We also need to highlight the fact that making your friends’ businesses known doesn’t necessarily mean posting them on our social media pages. Because I know if this is not the major cause of “oooh my friends don’t support my hustle”, it is among the leading causes. I mean if I don’t advocate for masturbation, there is no way I’ll post your sex toys business on my social media. But if I come across someone that needs them, it’ll only be right for me to recommend you to them.

On that note, it’s high time I talked about my addition to the coffeeserver_squad. You guys, I’m finally having my podcast. A whole Podcast!!! I’m having my debut show on Sunday the 13th as in kesho kutwa, God-willing. Meanwhile follow the coffeeserver_squad page on Instagram and like the 2 posts that are there already๐Ÿ˜‚(I’ve been talking to myself on that page all this while…sigh!). Also, listen to my trailer via the link on that page’s bio. Thanks! (Or should I get back to my high school days and use T.I.A instead? This actually sounds fancier) Soo…T.I.A!
