✨WEMA ✨

“Tenda wema nenda zako”

You’ve most definitely heard of this saying…Yes??? Yes

I wish I understood the saying way earlier than I did;that I helped those around me without expecting anything in return. Well, today I’m not ranting 😂 but I want to celebrate people I consider to be shujaaz.

It is amazing that in this day and age, there are still pure souls out here. There are people who are willing to be of help even at the first interaction. Ok yeah it probably has crossed your mind that some of these people might just be putting up an act to win your trust before they betray it but hata hiyo kaeffort ya kuwa mzuri once inacount.

So one day I was in a public service vehicle, travelling from Meru. Just before we reached Embu, the mat I was in, had its left side mirror damaged by an oncoming mat. Thou shalt not dare ask me how that happened😂because I was asleep and only woke up when I realized that the vehicle was stationary. Ofcourse my driver alighted and went for ‘negotiations’ with the other driver. What caught my attention however, is another driver pulling up and volunteering to help out my driver. The good Samaritan calmed down my ‘deree’ because by then he was boiling with anger. His good deeds didn’t just stop there. He offered to drive with us to the nearest police station and trust me when I say he chilled at the station till our driver was cleared(ama whatever that was), half an hour later!!!

Now is this not being a kind soul???Rarely will you come across strangers willing to put everything aside to just help you

Another kind gesture I remember was from a matatu tout. I’d given him a 50-shilling note and to me that was a done deal. A while later I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. Turning back, this tout is handing me a 10-shilling coin. Then he adds “Mada ni 40 bob”. I can’t express how amazed I was. It’s not even the 10 bob that excited me(I mean a 10 bob won’t be of much help to me 🤷🏿‍♀) but his being honest.

Now that I’m putting together this blog, I am sure so many people have done me good but I barely can remember those special interactions;as a matter of fact, I took long to remember these two instances. I know I am not alone. We tend to remember the bad encounters we had with others and forget about the good they’ve done. So I challenge you to try remember an instance someone helped you even in the smallest way and celebrate them.

To all the kind-hearted people out here, I celebrate you. This life is already hard so you make it a wonderful place to live in, with your kind gestures. Sending love your way 💕.

So I’m planning to take up a ‘Be Kind’ challenge this month. Below is my list:

1.Buy lunch for a friend

2.Compliment someone (I’m intentionally avoiding to specify that it be a stranger because whoosh I don’t have that typa energy😂)

3.Pay a courtesy call to a couple of my high school classmates that I’ve promised to visit for decades now!!! Ok I exaggerate a bit too much 🤣

SIDE NOTES!!!

1.In this month’s edition I was supposed to feature my friends out here killing it. However life happened and I just COULD NOT. Let’s wait and find out whether it’ll offer me another chance to celebrate y’all ❤

Anyway…A big shoutout to all young peeps who’ve decided to start building their empires as early as now by actively utilising their talents/hobbies.

2.I want to try out sth new. It might take me years or just a few months but I’m super excited for it 😭💥

3.FINALLY!!!

When I started blogging about 9 months ago, I’d promised to be sharing a Bible verse in each blog. But who is Lena 🙄. Nimekuwa nikisleki hapo and I honestly don’t have an excuse for that. So here’s to me getting back on track 👊🏿

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
