23rd birthday note to myself…

Babe,

Huhuhu you just turned 23 🎉…I know it feels so exciting especially now that you will start a new journey after today😅

As I write this I just turned 20(najua ushasahau😂),so it still feels good.

On the eve of graduation last month, I was in class. At the graduation square, the big day’s set-up was all ready and they started playing these hype songs. Yaani songs along line ya kina figa.I hope bado unakumbuka vile I was attracted to this song mpaka nikiwa class ya statistics at the back of my mind I was like ‘figa faya yaani dangerous…🎶’ So I almost got carried away until our lecturer brought me back from my zoning off with the statement “You guys are not the ones graduating!!!” That hit hard 😭.

Friday the 28th finally dawned. Since it was a holiday for me, I woke up quite early but lazed in bed watching some show. However, there was so much noise outside my room and it really didn’t add up. This prompted me to peep outside and I was amazed.

So in my hostel, there’s a cafeteria. I bet one of the residents here had their guests have breakfast in the cafeteria, before they went to school for the grad. Ooh my!!! These people were so happy at the achievement of one of their own. Some of them were shushus but the joy they had this day, made them glow.

The hyped mood in school the previous day and the happiness on these grannies’ faces left me with a task. A great one for that matter!!!

“Lennah you have to make your clan this happy. I mean you don’t have an option hun.” I mumbled these words to myself.

I hope today, now that you are turning 23 and are graduating all on the same day, (God-willing 😊) I’ve actualised these words.

Because;

You are what keeps me going…

You are the reason I come back to my senses real fast…

You are why I have constant me to me pep talks…

You are my source of energy when I’m drained…

You are my MOTIVATION!!!
