NINETEEN!!!

It’s date nineteen

We are in the year twenty nineteen

I’m giving you nineteen lessons life has taught me in my nineteen years of existence…

I hope you are feeling the nineteen vibe in me

I could feel the 19 vibe as early as on the 364th day of 18 ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Œ

And like every typical student,at times sikuwa keen kwa darasa while my lecturer, Ms. Life, taught me some of these lessons. Therefore, zingine nimecram tu so I really haven’t started applying them, but I know God’s grace will be sufficient enough for me to grasp and start applying them by the end of this new year ๐Ÿคญ

1.PRAY

This is undoubtedly the most valuable lesson I’ve learnt. And you know an amazing thing about prayer is that you can whisper it even when in the most tense situations; just have it come from deep within you.

I’ve grown to realize that nothing is too stupid that you can’t include it in your prayers. I mean, this is a conversation you are having with your creator so mbona umfiche anything???

2.MARK YOUR TERRITORIES

I’ve learnt the hard way that life doesn’t allow you to be a softie. With the harshness of today’s world, you’ll be left broken and with barely no one to fix you again. So there’s no point of entertaining anyone that goes past your boundaries. If they are not comfortable with you being protective of yourself, they can as well find other friends!!!

3.BE CONTENT

Many times we fail to enjoy life because we are busy wishing we had this or that. At times we wish we could have posh lives like some of our friends. We fail to consider the higher chances that these people whose lives we are wishing for, have worse struggles they have to deal with every day. So tosheka na kile ulicho nacho.

4.SEIZE ‘EM OPPORTUNITIES

Do you know the pain of failing to achieve something is less and a bit satisfying as opposed to the pain of regretting that you’d seized an opportunity but you just didn’t???

The latter haunts you ๐Ÿ˜ค…

My point is, seize any opportunity that comes your way…just don’t let it slip in between your fingers…

5.CELEBRATE YOUR FRIENDS

You see those small achievements your friends make, celebrate them kabsaa…I’ve learnt that celebrating your friends even on just a random day drives them to achieve the best they can. This also strengthens your friendship ๐Ÿ˜€…

6.FAMILY FIRST

If there comes a time you are at a crossroads, whether to go by your family’s opinion or your friends, choose your family’s. Family, especially your parents, are the realest people you’ll meet ๐Ÿ˜Š

Ofcourse not all of us have close-knit families and that’s fine. Just because you are related by blood doesn’t mean you have to take in their toxicity.

7.BE REAL

I feel the greatest mistake one can make is trying to act like somebody they are not. One will most probably do this ili to catch their friends’ attention. And yeah you’ll get the attention you are looking for…halafu??? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€

Yo trying to fit in will just leave you with some emptiness that can’t be filled. Babe, everyday…all day choose your satisfaction over that of your friends!!!

8.SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE

One of the reasons our ancestors moved to East Africa from their cradle land, is that they were adventurous. So you also should be.

Imagine staying in Nairobi and the only place you know is the famous tea room. What a shame that will be!!!

Now we are half-way through ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฟ.Right now I feel like some granny advising her vijukuu by the fireplace on a moonlit evening ๐Ÿ˜‚.These my fantasies tho’๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿฟโ€โ™€

9.GOOD TERMS

Always work to be in good terms with everyone. Yees I mean it. Being in good terms doesn’t mean you be friends with everyone;that is just impossible ๐Ÿ˜…

You know when you haven’t wronged anyone,no one can pull you down. Simply because they don’t have a reason to. They’ll only speak ill of you, out of jealousy. I haven’t heard or read of anyone who died because they were gossiped…

10.MIND THE RUMOURS

Often we are told don’t mind what others say about you…blah blah blah. Well, Ms. Life told me you should;just don’t let their words be an obstruction to you attaining your goals.

When they make those rumours they’ll most probably have capitalised on your weaknesses and that will be a good opportunity for you to better yourself. To add to it, only then will you be able to know your real friends.

11.LOWKEY

Not everyone is happy that you are achieving so much.

So be lowkey and keep giving them sudden and unexpected surprises with your success.

12.BE FORGIVING

I can’t emphasize this enough!!!

There honestly is no point of holding a grudge. You only end up burdening yourself.

13.LET GO

Sis, you’ve held back the tears for a long time…

Bro, you’ve bottled your emotions for a while now…

I think it’s high time you let go. Find a friend you can be vulnerable to and open up your heart to them.

Well, some of us have been betrayed so much that we prefer to put up the smiling face even when we know we are losing it….Learn to let go of the smiley mask and cry yourself to sleep. Of course, not forgetting to present your petitions to God ๐Ÿ˜Œ

14.FINANCIAL HEALTH

I don’t know why someone would spend all their money without saving even a coin (of course unless when in tense situations).Like yo kwani you are dying tomorrow???

Lemme leave you with the ESS rule ๐Ÿ˜Ž Earn…Save…Spend!!!

15.HAPPY YOURSELF

โ€˜โ€˜Girls let’s happy ourselves so that when our parents come they’ll join in the happiness.โ€™โ€™ These were the words our principal would always tell us just before an event in school.

So you only, have the responsibility of making yourself happy. If you can’t, you are too toxic for the rest of us.

Oooh yeah…be your greatest fan!!!

16.FALSE URGENCIES

You know that moment you are just about to do something constructive then you remember there’s some fayaa udaku you didn’t give your friend??? And then you feel like giving the udaku is a matter of life and death. Such are the false urgencies. Then later on you quarrel with yourself on how you wasted so much time. These urgencies have been my greatest derailers ๐Ÿ˜ญ.

I think the only solution to these would be praying against them. Because wuuueeehhh these are demons ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿšฎ.

17.SHHH & WALK AWAY

This applies when you are angry and especially if you are short-tempered.

I’ve realized that some of my most regrettable moments occurred when I was angry. When one is angry at times you might just lose your sanity.

18.GOLDEN PILLARS

We all have been taught of the golden pillars. These are; please, excuse me, sorry and thank you.

I’ve grown to learn that constantly using these words benefits you more than they benefit whoever you are using them on.

19.SHOOT YOUR SHOT

This just had to be the last one๐Ÿ˜‚

Yeah it’s good to shoot your shot in all aspects but that’s not my point right now.

So if you have a crush on somebody tell them!!! Life is too short for you to go about hiding your feelings. However, I don’t mean to sound rude, be careful where you are shooting.

Wee nawe ukipendwa hebu pendeka. This does not mean that they should force you into a relationship. How you respond will either build up or destroy their self-esteem๐Ÿ˜Š.

Now that you are in the know, have an amazing last half of the year โค.

19 was good!!! โšก
