THE SCRIPT ๐Ÿงพ

Happy New Year! (I’ll wish you a happy New Year even in September ๐Ÿ˜น.)

One thing about me is that I’ll never miss to put up a new year’s post. With that in mind, welcome to 2023’s batch of my weekly thoughts. I might be consistent or inconsistent. However, I promise you top-tier content.

2022 was literally 10 minutes long. It served me happy moments and heart-breaking moments, in an almost equal measure. It had me change my perspective on some issues and affirm my opinion on other issues. 2022 had me make extremely beautiful memories with my family, friends and self. This year brought a new experience my way as well as new people that I’m hoping to create amazing friendships with. Most importantly, this is one year that taught me lessons; harsh ones and subtle ones. I know you are tired of the ‘2022 taught me…’ script, but reading one more of such won’t kill you, will it?

God answers prayers. At times He won’t answer them immediately, but He eventually does. I saw myself murmur a silent prayer and it being answered within minutes. I also saw myself consistently pray for something and it not being answered to date. However, I’m still convinced that He answers prayers because He answered those silent ones as well as some of the persistent ones. As a matter of fact, I am currently living an answered prayer.

Create time for enjoyment because time for pain will create itself. This was my mantra throughout 2022 even before I saw this specific quote. Last year I really took time to have fun both by myself and with my friends. And without fail, time for pain created itself because there’s a week I was so sick that I couldn’t leave my bed while at the same time one of my very close relatives was preparing to travel abroad for treatment. Anyway God is good and we are both here, enjoying good health ๐Ÿคญ. So kids, msikose time ya kupulaia maisha mehn๐Ÿ˜‚.

No one is coming to save you! This is a very harsh truth that I want to remind myself of more often, in 2023. Every one of those plans and ambitions you have will only be accomplished by you. There will be people to help you and guide you along the way, but you are the only one that can ensure that you get what you desire. This is a 2022 lesson that I’ll apply this year, because I spent the better part of last year reflecting on it.

Cut your coat according to your cloth! If there’s an year I have heavily felt this proverb, it was 2022. Guys, create budgets for even the slightest expenses and try to stick to those budgets. That’s all for this paragraph.

Ask for help. I made a huge blunder late last year simply because I didn’t ask for help. Thinking that I could easily get the help I needed if I asked for it, haunts me to date ๐Ÿ˜‚ . I find it very hard to ask for help but I’d rather ask for even the slightest help, than live a haunted life.

With that said ladies and gentlemen, do have yourselves a learning year. Take time throughout the year to note the lessons life will throw your way and actually learn from them.
